Travels and Parties and PERBS!

So, now that we are back from Thailand, we are starting to plan our second trip.  One week in Dubai, so Brian can get his skydiving license and ten days in Europe, so I can chisel some stuff off of my bucket list.  I want to go to Croatia - hands down.  Brian wants to go to Austria and Switzerland, so we're doing all three - hopefully.  More details to come as we hash out our differences on vacation spots.  (Real life problems, right?)  I'll also be coming home for a month in August because my BFF in Austin is having a baby!!!  THEN, we are going to Albania for a wedding and heading down to Greece afterwards in September.  Busy, Busy, Busy.

I hosted a birthday party for my BFF in Qatar, Jen.  It was a great time - food, friends, libations.  Now, I'm not complaining, just making an observation.  I have never had so many friends with small children - ever.  The only interaction I've had my entire life is with my two nephews.  It's definitely a "party changer."  Now, I actually play cartoons at my parties.  I play "Giddy-Up-Horsie" at my parties.  I have quasi-childproofed my house in preparation for my parties.  You know it's a smash when the children and adults have a group sing-a-long to "Part Of Your World."  It's awesome to be a grown up.  :)  I also bought a cake and made guacamole and ribs (of the pork kind).  Side note:  The cake was less expensive than 8 avocados.  It cost $45 USD for 8 avocados.  Yes, I'm serious.

Since we're on food, the chicken breasts here are four to a pack, but total the weight of one American chicken breast.  We used to have "fresh" chicken from Saudi, but they got pissed at us not wanting to pay their import tax, so now we do not have fresh chicken.  All we can get is frozen, rubbery, tiny chicken and it is narsty.  Red onions are the size of a golf ball.  Zucchini is the size of a pickle.  They don't sell pickles.  They don't sell corn tortillas, refried beans, pinto beans - nothing good and Mexicany.  How I've gained weight here, I will never understand.

We now have a vehicle.  I can go to the store by myself now!  Woot Woot!  However, comma, I can't park it anywhere because we got a behemoth of a truck.  I named her Princes Rainbow Butterfly Sparkly (PRBS) pronounce "Perbs."  I'm just waiting on Brian to give in to the glitter cannons I want to put on her.

The woman I replaced in my current job is coming home in two weeks from maternity leave.  THANK YOU BABY JESUS.  I've got a few irons in other job-fires, so keep your fingers crossed for me.  :)

Brian has been working his arse off renovating our back yard.  I have photos and will post on FB as soon as he's finished.  It's going to be awesome...we have a fire pit for the three months it is actually cold enough to have one.  He's put a lot of blood and sweat into the project.  No tears yet, but he's not done, so we'll see.

I guess that is all.  We are accepting visitors, so come see us!  :)
